Establish or deepen your meditation practice by learning breathing and meditation techniques to incorporate into everyday life. Enjoy the depth of a guided group space. Suitable for all levels, from absolute beginners to experienced practitioners.

Fridays: Hatha Yoga

‘Ha’ means sun, ‘tha’ means moon. Hatha yoga encompasses all styles of yoga to balance the body not only physically but mentally. Class consists of classical yoga postures, standing and sitting inversions, and dynamic flows/sun salutes. Breath work is an integral part of the class and different techniques are taught at the end of every class, which closes with relaxation or meditation.  Open to all levels of experience.

1:15-2:30pm MF Pilates Studio, 23 Derby St, Gisborne

Saturdays: New Moon Hatha and Yoga Nidra

Monthly class held on Saturday nearest the new moon.  Each new moon is a time to step softly, it is also symbolic of new beginnings and an ideal time to set intentions.  This class consists of a combination of gentle flows and passive postures, followed by 30 mins guided Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation). Some yoga experience recommended.

Sundays: Full Moon Meditation

Guided breathing and meditation held monthly on Sunday nearest the full moon.  Meditate in a supportive and friendly group environment with techniques that are simple, yet have deep potential.  Practice simple breathing techniques that increase your energy and promote calmness. Open to all levels from beginner to experienced practitioner. Entry by donation.

In 2015 I was in the process of getting diagnosed with an auto immune disease. I didn't know it at the time, but I was extremely sick. I was so fatigued but at the same time I couldn't sleep. 

Becs recorded a personalised yoga nidra for me that I could download to my phone. I am a regular yoga practitioner so to lose my practice during this time was heartbreaking. 

Yoga nidra is a form of yoga and it was perfect for me at this time. This helped me through some of these hard times, and took my mind away from thinking about the sickness.

A year on and I have never felt better, maybe more so than before.
